Automatic Timetable Generator

Build a clash-free weekly timetable for your classes in seconds — no teacher is ever booked for two classes in the same period.

What Is an Automatic Timetable Generator?

A timetable generator takes your list of classes, subjects, teachers and periods per day and arranges them into a weekly plan from Monday to Friday. It rotates subjects fairly across the week and makes sure no teacher is scheduled for two classes at the same time.

How to Use It — Step by Step

  1. Choose how many classes need a timetable (1–5) and how many periods each day has (4–8).
  2. Enter your subjects and teachers, separated by commas or new lines. Teachers are matched to subjects in order.
  3. Pick where the lunch break goes, or choose “No lunch break”.
  4. Press Generate Timetable. Check the result, then press Print Timetable to print it or save it as a PDF.

Worked Example

With 3 classes, 6 periods a day, lunch after period 3, subjects English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Hindi, Art and 4 teachers, the generator produces a Monday-to-Friday table for each class. Every period shows the subject and the teacher, and no teacher appears twice in the same period across the three classes.

FAQs

What does “Free Period” mean in the timetable?

It means every teacher was already teaching another class in that period, so no clash-free subject could be placed there. Add another teacher or reduce the number of classes to remove free periods.

How are teachers matched to subjects?

Teachers are matched to subjects in the order you list them. If you list more subjects than teachers, the list repeats, so one teacher may teach more than one subject.

Can I print the timetable?

Yes. Press the Print Timetable button on your result, or use your browser’s print option. You can also save it as a PDF from the print dialog.
