What Is a School Fee Comparison?

A school fee comparison adds up everything a school charges in a year — the one-time admission fee, the monthly fee, transport and other annual charges — for two schools, so parents can see the real yearly cost of each instead of comparing only the monthly fee.

How to Use It — Step by Step

  1. Enter the name and fees of the first school (admission fee, monthly fee, transport fee per month and other annual charges).
  2. Enter the same details for the second school.
  3. Press Compare Fees. The annual total for each school appears, along with which school is cheaper and by how much.

Worked Example

School A charges admission 10000, monthly fee 3000, transport 1000 per month and other charges 5000 a year: 10000 + (3000 × 12) + (1000 × 12) + 5000 = 63000 per year. School B charges admission 5000, monthly fee 2500, transport 800 per month and other charges 4000: 5000 + (2500 × 12) + (800 × 12) + 4000 = 48600 per year. So School B is cheaper by 14400 per year.

FAQs

Why compare the annual total instead of the monthly fee?

Two schools can have similar monthly fees but very different admission fees, transport charges and annual charges. The annual total shows the full cost for the year.

What should I put in “Other Annual Charges”?

Anything charged once a year, such as exam fees, activity charges, uniform or book charges billed by the school, or an annual development fee.
